Chicago to Host National Discussion on Debt; Residents Urged to Participate Diverse Group of Local Leaders Come Together to Endorse June 26th National Town Meeting CHICAGO – Chicago has been selected as one of six primary sites for an unprecedented national discussion on the national debt. A diverse group of local leaders called for Chicagoland residents to participate in the national discussion on Saturday, June 26th. Local leaders from across the political spectrum endorsed the nonpartisan process, called AmericaSpeaks: Our Budget, Our Economy, which will bring together Americans here and across the country to meet in person and online to learn about the issues involved, weigh the options, and develop recommendations for policymakers in Washington. read more
